Screen faults that need a new display
- cracked glass, whether the picture beneath still works or not
- a green, pink or white vertical line, often after a software update or with no drop at all
- burn-in: a faint, permanent keyboard, status bar or navigation bar showing on plain backgrounds
- black, ink-like spots spreading from a corner or the point of impact
- a black screen while the phone still rings, vibrates or connects to a computer
- touch that is dead along one edge, or registers taps you didn't make
Book a black screen as a diagnosis rather than a screen repair: a phone that has been in water or has a failed board can look identical. The diagnosis is free.
Why Ultra and curved-edge screens cost more
Curved-edge screens, the large Ultra panels and those with a built-in S Pen digitiser are more expensive parts, and curved glass is harder to free from the frame without damage. The price table above lists each model separately, so you see the figure for your phone rather than a single "from" price.
On Ultra models with an S Pen, we test pen input across the whole screen after the repair, along with touch, brightness and the fingerprint sensor.
Until it's repaired
A cracked Galaxy screen is no longer water resistant, whatever its IP rating says, so keep it away from water and the beach. Clear tape across the cracks holds splinters in place. If the screen is unreadable but touch still works, you can usually back the phone up by connecting it to a computer with Smart Switch, or by turning on Samsung Cloud or Google backup before it gets worse.

We arrange the collection, check the phone before opening it, fit the display and test it before it goes back. A green line appeared without a drop. Does a screen repair fix it?
Yes. A line that appears by itself is the AMOLED panel or its connection failing, and the fix is a new display assembly, the same repair as a cracked screen. It rarely clears up and often spreads, so book before the screen becomes unreadable.
Will fingerprint unlock work after the repair?
The in-display fingerprint sensor needs registering again once a new screen is fitted: delete your old fingerprints and add them again in Settings. We check the sensor works before the phone comes back to you.
Can I keep my screen protector?
Use one marked as compatible with your model's fingerprint sensor. Thick or badly fitted protectors are a common reason ultrasonic readers stop working, on original screens and replacements alike.
Do you replace Galaxy Fold and Flip screens?
Book with your exact model and describe the damage. Foldable screens are priced after a free diagnosis, because the inner screen, outer screen and hinge each fail differently, and we confirm the repair and its price once we've seen it.
